Textbook Affordability

Students, Are you looking for your Textbook and other Course Materials?  

Find your textbooks at the Maverick Shop Bookstore.  

In addition, the library may have some of your textbooks on Course Reserve or through the Maverick Textbook Reserve program.  Search our page to see if your course materials are also available in the library.  

Per Minnesota State Statute 136F.58 Bookstores; Course Materials Acquisition:

"An instructor or department shall notify a college or university bookstore of the final order for required and recommended course material at least 45 days prior to the commencement of the term."  

Follett Discover allows you to easily discover, research, and adopt course materials through D2L Brightspace.  Whether you have a course adoption or not, the bookstore needs to know. Submit your adoptions by following the step-by-step process below: ***NOTE: If you do not have any adoptions for a course, follow the steps below and on step #8 and select “I have no materials to adopt for this course”.

1. Log into D2L Brightspace, using your StarID and password.
2. Navigate to your course, and go to Materials, then Content.
3. Create a new Module by clicking Add a Module.

4. Name the module that would best help your students find the textbook materials, for example “Start Here” or “Textbook materials.”
5. Within the Brightspace Content tool, click Existing Activities --> External Learning Tools
    
6. From External Learnings Tools --> Follett Discover
    
7. This adds Follett Discover into the Module that was selected.
    
8. The link will bring the Instructor to the Follett Discover My Courses homepage.
   
   ***NOTE: No Adoptions?  Select “I have no materials to adopt for this course”.
