Read&Write with ProQuest Ebook Central

Although Ebook Central does not have a built-in text-to-speech reader, you can switch to accessibility mode to use the software easily with Read&Write. This allows you to use the Read&Write browser extension to read ebooks online without needing to download them to Adobe Digital Editions.

  1. Go to the Settings link in the main navigation.
  2. From the dropdown options select Profile.
  3. Under the section Accessibility Mode, use the radio buttons to enable accessibility mode and / or OpenDyslexic typeface.
  4. Check the box to agree to ProQuest's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  5. Save changes.
  6. Use the Read Online button to open the book in the ebook reader. The text will display as plain text with no image layer.
