  1. Why was the sculpture built?
  2. What does the sculpture symbolize? 
  3. Visit the red Waves sculpture located between the Centennial Student Union and Memorial Library.

C.  Click on the link for Minnesota State University, Mankato Landmarks.  This webpage features art, landmarks, and gardens around campus. 

  1. Select another piece of artwork on campus.  Read the description carefully to make sure the piece is available on campus, then visit it.  Take a picture of yourself in front of your selected artwork and post the picture to the Common Read Facebook page (use #MavCommonRead).   
  2. What drew you to select this piece of artwork? 
  3. What other types of artwork would you like to see on campus? 

D.  Visit an art exhibition on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus.  

  1. For exhibition schedules at the Conkling Gallery (139 Nelson Hall) and the Centennial Student Union (Lower Level of the Centennial Student Union) visit the link above.
