Using Checkpoint EDGE

There are a variety of search options and features available within Checkpoint EDGE. Content is categorized by practice area and search options vary from one practice area to another. 

Available Search Options in the Federal Practice Area

Search Box (default option)

Search for information in the federal practice area by entering a question, keyword(s), or citation in the query box. The search engine will decipher what you mean. Retrieved search results can be filtered by content types (e.g., Editorial, Primary, News/Current Awareness, and Archival materials).

Beneath the search box there are additional options available to assist in the retrieval of information:

  • terms & connectors--search by keywords that can be connected through the use of Boolean and proximity operators, as well as phrase and wildcard(s) searching
  • citation & other search tools--search by citation, date range, and legislation
  • query tool--search by using a template

Table of Contents

Browse for information on a topic by entering keywords and then selecting a specific source or sources. Retrieved search results can be filtered by suggested concepts relevant to a query or concept markers.
