CrimeSolutions is a central, reliable resource to help practitioners and policymakers understand what works in justice-related interventions. Its purpose is to assist in practical decision making and program implementation by gathering information on specific justice-related programs and practices and systematically reviewing the existing evaluation and meta-analysis research against standardized criteria.

The United States' primary source for criminal justice statistics BJS is the primary statistical agency of the Department of Justice. It is one of the thirteen principal federal statistical agencies throughout the Executive Branch, agencies whose activities are predominantly focused on the collection, compilation, processing, or analysis of information for statistical purposes.

Primary resources for crime data."The UCR Program includes data from more than 18,000 city, university and college, county, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies."

The Federal Bureau of Prison administers the Federal Prison System. Statistics can be found under the About Us tab. Research reports can be found under that Resources tab.

The NCVS is the nation’s primary source of information on criminal victimization. It is an annual data collection sponsored by the Bureau of Justice Statistics. The NCVS collects information from a nationally representative sample of U.S. households on nonfatal crimes, reported and not reported to the police, against persons age 12 or older.

NIJ is the research, development and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. Look under the tab for "Library & Multimedia" and the "Topics" tab to discover research on areas of interest to the Department of Justice

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis conducts research on economic issues with a focus on the our region.

The MInnesota Legislative Reference Library provides helpful links to various special sources of reports by categories such as gangs, gun control.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) provides investigative and specialized law enforcement services to prevent and solve crimes in partnership with law enforcement, public safety and criminal justice agencies. Services include criminal justice training and development, forensic laboratory analysis, criminal histories and investigations.

Minnesota Department of Corrections administers the State of Minnesota's prison system. Use the "Data & Publications" tab to find Minnesota corrections research.

The Statute Service provides a search tool intended for use by criminal justice professionals and the Public for finding specific Minnesota Criminal Justice Statutes for charging and sentencing purposes. The Statute Service also provides a computer to computer web service interface for criminal justice agencies to consume and integrate statute information with other products.

The Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) is an independent research organization that focuses on critical issues in policing. Since its founding in 1976, PERF has identified best practices on fundamental issues such as reducing police use of force; developing community policing and problem-oriented policing; using technologies to deliver police services to the community; and evaluating crime reduction strategies.

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA) was founded in 1922 and its members include municipal police officers, county deputy sheriffs, correctional officers and other public safety professionals employed in the State of MN.
