Finding Journal Articles at MSU Guide

See our Journal Articles guide to learn more about finding articles for your research.

Beginning Your Research

One of the most difficult steps in the paper writing process is choosing a topic.

When selecting an art related topic, start by asking yourself these questions.

Am I interested in researching

  • an individual object? (e.g. Chartres Cathedral, Book of Kells)
  • a medium? (e.g. mosaics, sculpture, architecture, painting, ceramics)
  • a style or period? (e.g. Gothic, Romanesque)
  • art in a specific location? (e.g. Holy Roman Empire, French, English, Middle Eastern)
