Scholar Profiles (previously known as SelectedWorks) is a web-based service available to faculty and staff at Minnesota State University, Mankato through Library Services. Scholar Profiles allows for the construction of individual profile pages that can then highlight publications, creative works, and so much more.
Why should you create a Scholar Profile?
Showcase research and creative works. The Scholar Profiles allows faculty to highlight their research on easily created and updated pages. Scholarship hosted in Scholar Profiles ranks high in search engine results, which makes them easy to discover by researchers. A simple to implement “follow” feature allows readers to know about newly added content.
Track usage and readership. The Author Dashboard is a personalized reporting tool within Scholar Profiles for faculty with works published in Cornerstone or Scholar Profiles. As authors, faculty can access a dashboard to view up-to-date download information for every full-text work published, as well as global insights into the sources of that readership.
Support for tenure and promotion applications. Readership and usage metrics can be shared with tenure review and promotion committees to demonstrate scholarship impact.
Highlight University experts. Scholar Profiles can be used to promote faculty and their expertise to media outlets through the Experts Gallery.
