MavScholar FAQs

MavScholar is a simple, fast way to search through the library's resources, including over a million items of media! This includes books, ebooks, articles, movies, and more.

Not necessarily. Many sources will have an "Available Online" link that will navigate you to the database or website, but some sources will have to be requested or only be physically here in the library.

The available online button will show up under the information about your source. It has a paperclip and arrow icon.

Yes! You can search and browse results without logging in. However, you will be prompted to login with your Star ID and password to view the full content of an item. The login in screen will look like this:

First, click on the “Available Online” link under the title. Look for links that say "PDF" or "Full text." It's possible the link might not be working right. In this case, contact a librarian.

MavScholar is now the MSU Library Catalog. Our MavScholar Books & Media search has many similar features to the traditional library catalog.
