Citations: Move an Existing RefWorks Account to the New RefWorks

Learn what a citation is, how to read a citation and how to create APA, ASA, MLA, and Chicago style citations.

Cancellation

Due to low use, a rising subscription cost, and the number of freely available citation and reference management tools, the library will cancel RefWorks when our current subscription ends December 31, 2019. Any citations not migrated out of RefWorks will be inaccessible after this date. Information about migrating your data from RefWorks to Mendeley or Zotero can be found on this guide.

Import References from Existing RefWorks accounts into the New RefWorks

Current RefWorks users have two option for moving existing references into the New RefWorks.

When you log in to your existing RefWorks account, you will see an option to “Move to the newest version of RefWorks."
legacy RefWorks has a link to move your account and references to the new RefWorks

Or you can bring your existing RefWorks data into the New RefWorks from within your New RefWorks account via Import references
